Ani Pană runs NGO - non government organization in Braila - Romania
She started in 2012 with a dog named Lady who gave birth to nine puppies while living on the streets.
She was taken to the Unirea shelter where Ani rescued her and the puppies, sadly only one survived, the others died from Rubarth Hepatit.
After this Ani visited the shelter weekly and started her NGO in 2013.
Since then she has taken hundreds of dogs from the shelter, sharing many on Facebook, which attracted adopters and sponsors to supply her with food for the dogs in her care.
She moved to larger premises and managed to build kennels and now takes dogs from the streets, other shelters, and from people who no longer want their dogs.
Ani’s costs are enormous, constantly repairing the kennels, feeding the dogs, and installing cameras to watch the dogs 24/7.
She has to pay for food, water, electricity, vets bills, vaccinations, neutering, and other costs involved when the animals are lucky enough to find a forever home due to Ani’s efforts.
At the moment she has 132 dogs in her care. She hopes that many will be adopted but those that are too old or poorly or not suitable for adoption will always have a home with Ani.
Ani works tirelessly and relentlessly to help the animals others have given up on.
